Definitely the best thing a hitter can do is communicate with their setter. They can only guess how you like your sets if you don't say anything or give them attitude. Another thing is play defense... especially middles in the back row. Too many times people sit behind the block where they can't see the hitter. Position yourself so you can see the hitter. Whenever I play middle on defense, I always follow the set left or right along the back line because whoever is playing defense on that side will need to cover short since the front row player is usually blocking. |
