Your serve receive all depends on the server. Lobs... You could have one receiver. If you have a server who it going to serve spots then the more people passing the less 'spots' to serve. And a hard jump server I would want three receivers with another person covering the ball that will roll over the tape.

I believe he's referring to league teams. I doubt they have a libero.

True liberos are usually only found on club, school, and national teams. When I say true liberos, I mean they pass $money$ 90% of the time. Most USAV teams use liberos as a better option than having their middles play defense and aren't really great passers... just better than the alternative.
