I remember a time or maybe my memory is wrought...
Anyway there was this one ugly set straight up high in the middle. Well you'd think that an outsider should at least hit an outside set, but the setter was just standing there looking like a deer at me. So I committed to it. The middle blocker was on top of me. The outside blocker cover's me down. The weakside blocker decides to form the triple collective block on me. Holy horses Great Wall of China! They're all over 6 feet giants and all blocked low and sealed on the net. They'd figured and ugly high middle set, doesn't warrant much of a height to block as most people normally try to just save it. I'd take a risky shot, only I cheated big time. I swang lefty and managed to hit the ball in between the middle and weakside blocker. I went the inside shot and hit into the underarms of the weakside blocker. The ball ricochet's between two guys and popped back up on the foot of the middle blocker as they landed. They rally the ball back with three more contacts. We all argue'd about too many hits and the legality of the foot contact. Some people said that there were no foot play allowed. Some people argued about the four or five ricochet in between the blockers and I was one of them. The problem was there was mutliple attempts to play the ball while it ricochet. That led to other problem of more than three contacts. LOL's it was heated and silly. Some people were really serious. Plus I was stuck on FIVB rules about two player simultaneaously playing the ball for two hits and everybodyelse was telling me it was only one hit. |
