There are just as many, if not more, male coaches who make the same mistakes that you pointed out. The problem is that good women coaches are few and far between. I agree, as of now there are not many women who can effectively coach men's volleyball. But as with everything else, it must begin small and become bigger. Another female coach i know coaches COLLEGE and she is very intense with fitness and having an aggressive mentality.
If you are looking for a coach to give you plyometrics, weight training and conditioning you'd be better off with a personal trainer. Improving your fitness should be your job, not someone else's. Don't you play libero? The defensive minded coach should be something you enjoy.
I'll give you this, it sounds like your coach sucks. Don't bash on nearly half the population because the few you know don't quite live up to par.
By the way, there are more cows in cali than ct. Plus, if no one out here is competition, why is her high school all of a sudden actually good at volleyb
