It really depends on the venue...in the summer I play mostly 2's and some 3's. You'd think I was calling a car race w/how much I jabber

If my partner's playing it and it's up near their head I say "play it!" (to indicate to them that it's in and they should play/pass the ball.) If it's one or two over and I want them to get it I yell "Over Over Over." Or if I'm gonna get it I yell "Over Mine Mine Mine" (the Over part then Mine is to indicate for them to get ready quick as I may pass them high and tight so they should be ready to hit it on 2 (or set back to me at their discretion.) If the ball is out I yell "Out Out Out!"

If it's serve receive and it's between us and if I can reach it I yell "Mine Mine Mine" or "I go." If on serve receive I think it's theirs I yell their name or "You You You!" or "Yes Yes Yes" to indicate to them that it's in and I want them to play it. However, I would never yell "You" in 6's, too much chance for confusion. In that situation I would yell the person's name.

Oh yeah, also in 2's on a shanked pass and I'm running outta the court with my back to my partner I want them yelling "I'm here I'm here!" so I can backset to just in front of where their voice is coming from because I cannot see them in that situation.

If their pass to me is in the back court and my set to them is off the net I yell "You're off! Roll it! Roll it!" (so they don't smash it into the net or out because it's hard to hit a ball coming from behind you) If there's a blocker up I may yell "Cross!" or "Deep line!" depending where the block is set. If my pass is too tight I yell "Tight Punch It Punch it!" or "Tight! Touch it! Touch it!" Or if there's a block up anticipating the 2nd hit over I yell "Punch Punch One up!" or "Punch Punch Go Deep!" meaning hit up on the ball and not into the block or else cut it hard.
