This is the same as Harley riders gearing up in Harley Davidson clothing in order to ride their bike. Or the dancers in the other scene which I'm a part of (swing dancing) weaering their T-shirts from dance workshops out to dance in.

We know you like the activity. That's why you're there. Wearing the shirt is just sorta goofy.

FWIW, I've got plenty. I give most of them away to Goodwill or whatever, but there's still a dozen or so in my closet that I occasionally wear to non-volleyball events.
Depends... I wear my "Riverhawk Volleyball" gear a lot, I run the team and everything that goes with it. So I'm sporting my own goods and proud of it. No you won't catch me wearing my "Cedardale Champs" at Cedardale - but heck I dunno if it's THAT cheesey.

Though I will admit I find it funny when you goto tryouts somewhere, or run them. Kids still believe wearing your team shirt from last year makes you stand out - that is kinda corny...

All your analogies made me think of my other favorite. Going to a concert and seeing people wear the shirt of the band their seeing - the ones they just sold at the merc stand. So 9 thousand others have the same one one.
