Just to make sure we're all talking about the same thing...

REVERSE CO-ED doubles, means that men CANNOT contact the ball infront the of ten foot line above the height of the net, which is set at a women's height.

CO-ED doubles, is a men's height net, with a woman on the court.

Sooo... I'm not sure when you guys are saying you where blocking - we are all talking about the same stuff?

Also - blocking a guy in reverse coed is soooo nessicary if it's open, not so much if it's AA. Most open male hitters hit the ball in the same spot a woman would. Making them able to hit inside the 10 line or either corner; too much space to cover.

If your playing open, AA (or even A sometimes), the woman should be blocking the woman almost every time. If the woman is not getting set on the net - the guy isn't doing his job. The woman should be putting the ball DOWN if there is no block.
