Karl | The knee is a pretty complicated joint to just kind of generalize how to stop them from hurting. There are a ton of factors that could be contributing to the pain. But usually the bottom line is the link with inflammation. And so Strazz's advice is good. Ice and ibuprofen are good ways to relieve some of the pain associated with the inflammation. If the pain is pretty much restricted to aches after a long duration of play then you might want to think about a couple of other things. Depending on your age you might have some cartilage loss and this could be adding to the problem. A doctor might have ideas about how to help this. Or weight sometimes has a major impact on knee pain. Even a few pounds can make a big difference on how your knees feel after playing. Now don't go become anorexic or anything but if you have put on an eaxtra pound your body might be noticing. Mine certainly does. Just food for thought.
