Talking Crappy Balls - 10-24-2005, 04:02 PM

I'm not sure why it is, but everywhere I go they want to play with cheap, crappy volleyballs. We have the choice of using goods balls or cheap balls and invariably they will go with the bad ones. I played a tournament this weekend and a lot of the teams wanted to use the synthetic Mikasa ball. In our league and open gym a lot of the people want to use the synthetic Tachikara balls. I guess they are softer, I don't know. These are the balls that schools and clubs buy for practice balls because they are cheap. They really are not intended for game balls.

I feel better now.

(Sorry if any users of cheap balls are offended by this post. No cows were hurt in the making of this past tournament during due to the lack of leather balls.)

I wounder if this is a cost issue or just the good ones are not being used for general play. If you dont like it bring your own, thats my opinion.
