Oh yeah, don't be making fun of my sets when you have that leftie hit. It's a good thing it's effective because I'm usually laughing so hard I wouldn't be able to play the ball if it came back over.

Do You Have Any Special Techniques - 02-06-2007, 03:03 PM

Do You Have Any Special Techniques

Have a special technique that you like to do during the game?
Maybe a special move or hit you've decided to coin?

Perhaps a special name for a special serve you've got, start sharing.

I use my feet very often. I've saved balls from going under the net and turned them into nectar sets using my feet. If I'm running away from the net 9/10 times I will use my foot to bring the ball back because it's stronger, the ankle has a better angle to bring it back, and the legs are longer than the arms.

I also have become extremely well at using spin on the ball. I serve hook, slice, topspin, and underspin serves. These serve become extremely useful outdoors in windy situations. As soon as the other team becomes accustomed to a strong hook serve, they'll usually position themselves angled towards the hook. I'll change things up and slice the ball to catch them off guard and catch them out of position to receive it. They both work well when serving lines, too. Many times I'll stand on the left side, serve the ball at the antenna crosscourt and watch my serve ride the line and land in. Underspin serves are extremely useful against taller players. You can usually catch them offguard and catch a chin on them when the ball rises to their chest.

The Copy Cat Buster

Whenever we dig up an opponent's ball or lost one to a sideout of the serve, we run the exact same play they used on us. That's to say we copy cat the last play, to show that if you do that, we'll match you right back. The trick is to bust your opponent over it. Use their own play against them.

You wanna tip, we can tip too. You wanna paint the line, we can paint the line too. You wanna drop a bomb on the ten footer, we can drop a bomb there too.

Me eat meat in team.
