Pat Powers Clinics?? - 05-08-2006, 01:06 AM

Just wondering if there were any people here who have attended the Pat Powers clinics. What kinda of results can you get, and do you walk away from it a better volleyball player and not just out $150? Comments, opinions, experiences, lets hear the works.

P.S. I'm stuck in Southern Maine for the summer, beautiful beaches BUT I CANT FIND A GAME OR TOURNAMENT!!!!! HELP ME!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE HELP!

Haven't been to the clinic. But I think I am going to the clinic in a couple of weeks. I'd be happy to let you know after that.

I went to one in.. January? December?

It was actually really fun and informative. There were even a few people who had been to one before and wanted to come AGAIN, so I guess that's something of a testament to its helpfulness and legitimacy?

I mean, you HAVE to ask questions, as with anything, or you won't get the answers to your own personal questions, and you have to actually DO what he tells you to do when you break into groups [which there is a lot of]. I also personally recommend going with someone you know and is the same skill level as you, because there is a lot of paired activities, and he splits people up by level as well, so you don't want to get taken away from your partner! [Or maybe you do. :P].

If you have any more specific questions, ask and I'll try and answer them for you.

Come downa nd play with my boys at Hampton on saturday mornings (jsut about every single one)

Normally the whole team goes and we set up three nets - plus others do the same.

On sundays mornings and wensday afternoons you can play at York (I try to go as much as possibly), they play quads often - really good group of people.

Not sure where in souther maine you are, but those should work - I mean I drive an hour for each... I don't wanna thear you complain! lol

Goto Pat Powers, it's well worth your college beer fund...

I was at one of his events in NY last year and I have to say he runs a class show. The results are based on the persons effort. To be honest, the level of players varied and but that drills were able to weed out the slackers from the die-hards. All in all it looked like a lot of fun.
