Feedback on VITP Vol. 1 - 06-06-2006, 12:59 AM

I sent this email out to alot of people I know. I figured I'd post it here too for all to see & expound upon etc.

Hi everyone!

I hope you're drying out from this weekend! A while back I sent out an email to the group about the Volleyball in the Park series of grass tournaments - www.volleyballinthepark.com . Now I know that this is a new series of tournies so I though I'd share with you some feedback from the event. Now most tournaments were rained out over the weekend, or if you weren't rained out the promoter had you drive out there, play a match and then call it (just to keep your registration fee).

Glenn, the promoter of the Volleyball in the Park series was in the office untill 1:30 Friday night personally taking calls for players who had registered for the tournament and keeping them in the loop on the status of the following day's event. Sadly Glenn was forced to call the tourney, there was just too much water on the field. All teams that were registered however were given the option of parlaying their registrations to an upcoming tournament or playing in the reverse coed on sunday and every team opted to stick with Glenn in either format.

Sunday turned out to be a tolerable even decent day for volley. The reverse coed players braved the threatening skies and were treated to an effeciently run day of volleyball. There were over 35 players from as close as Long Island and NYC and as far as San Diego, CA and Pheonix, AZ involved in Sunday's competition. The fields were in good shape and there were enough nets to keep two courts open for fresh grass during playoffs. Each pool winner was rewarded with that courts game ball, as well as a variety of other great prizes. Of course there was plenty of water and other refreshments to make the day that much better.

What could have made the day better? Sun, and more players! This was the first event and I'm sure alot of you were waiting to 'see how it goes'. Well, it went great. For more info check out www.volleyballinthepark.com for the upcoming schedule. If you're looking for a partner or team or someone to carpool with send me an email or post up at www.vbli.com and for some event pix check out June 3rd Pics...

See you on the court!
