I know that some folks like to have a fairly regimented workout & dietary schedule laid out for them. Makes it alot easier to stick to.
I don't think that I can reccomend
www.absdietonline.com highly enough. The name is a bit of a misnomer, as they're actually a full service workout guide.
You tell 'em your weightlifting experience, what kinda equipment you've got to work out with (home set, full gym, etc.), certain exercises that you hate, what foods you like & dislike, your weight goal, how many days a week you're going to work out, what cardio you prefer, etc. They spit out a full workout & meal plan that constantly updates based upon the data you input back in. ie., if it says "3 sets of 110 pound bench presses with a goal of 10 reps" for your first workout and you're only able to do 5, the next bench session will be tailored lower. After a few weeks, it's got a pretty good handle on your abilities and will steadily push you forward. They give you a daily meal plan (including a weekly shopping list) that also changes and adapts to your preferences.
You've got complete adaptability within the regementation as well. You can change & record any aspect of a workout when you input it. So if you drop an exercise or do some extra stuff on any particular day, it keeps track of that.
Even if you don't stick comepletly with their recommended diet, there are articles about the "power foods" to base your diet on which will keep you getting the fuel you need.
This service is $9.99 a month, which I feel is way worth it. Hell, even the animated excercise demonstrations themselves are worth the $10 just to remind you of correct form.
I know that this sounds like an advertisement for them.

I guess it is in a way. I hadn't worked out seriously in about 6 years before I started up again last fall. After researching for weeks and getting up to speed on all the current trends (most of which are just fads that will pass), I was prepared to create my own routine from scratch. But knowing myself, I was fully aware that I could use a little help to get me through the first coupla months and back into the flow of a regular workout schedule. I couldn't be happier.
You get a free 10-day trial when you sign up, so if you decide it's not for you, no harm done.
