I've been dealing with lower back pain ever since my days of throwing back in college. Usually it's not too big of a deal as in give me a night of rest and I am good to go the next day. The last couple of weeks I have been playing so much volleyball that I pretty well haven't been able to recoop. So, my solution is to get stronger... Ok I know all about pilates and needing to strengthen my core. And I plan on starting some actual ab workouts soon (especially since BhDp and Revjim have to get ready for the ab contest). Does anyone have any specific exercises that work the lower back and probably butt exercises would help too. I mean gluteus exercises

And there are several exercises that we can do at the gym to include some core. I'll have to start going to bed earlier on thursdays so we can actually do them on friday a.m.'s else maybe we'll have to do doubles on monday and friday with cardio/abs in the evening.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
I used to have some lower back pain, my coach told me about these. We called them "swimmies" but - whatever, you look dumb but it does help strengthen your back;
Deadlifts, Squats, Situps, the Stepper, and leg lifts on the Weider-type bench while you lie on your stomach (I dunno what that last one is called, but anyway) - after those 5 your back will be killer!! I think bench press helps too! With the deadlifts and squats and bench - I prefer free weights.
Alrighty so my goal this week is to take some of the advice I've gotten here and incorporate it into some sort of circuit that I will start... sometime soon. LOL. Was that ambiguous enough? Anyway, I'll post up what I come up with and then let you know how it goes. So, who wants to partake???

I really like hypers, but that's just from a personal point of view. Don't mistake it for any sorta proper advice Find I get a good stretch in my hamstrings and my back which is nice, especially after squatting.
