NERT, extra motivation, I went "running" yesterday for about 30 min on the trails. All went pretty well until I rolled my ankle. But the good news is the knee wasnt hurting. Maybe I will try again before vball on Thursday. Wahoo. Oh yeah, we checked our verticals at 7-11 last week, post-playing and post-slurpee. You better watch out. I think I could jump like 5 bricks. Whatever that converts to.

5:08 today! Woot! Now I've just got to string a couple together. I've also discovered that as of this week the branch of the gym I go to will be open from 5:00 AM monday thru 9:00 PM Friday. So I can go whatever crazy hours a I want.
That's good cause my schedule is all over the place.
There was noone in the free weight area today so I did chest/shoulders. Anyone have any more exersize ideas I did 3x12 Bench Press, Incline Press, Military Press, Hammer shoulder press, butterfly's and an exersize that's been told to me is called hulk hogans. Hold a dumbell @ 90 deg. lift your upper arms out till parallel then raise the weight to vertical. It's a nice rotator cuff exersize.
Alright, after last weeks debacle this week is starting out good! I did a nice job eating, a nice job supplementing and 20 min on the tread mill, and 16 Set total body workout.
OK, so I only did two sets of each exersize, but I was tired and I didn't want to push it as it was my first full session back after a hiatus. I also wasn't sure how my elbow would respond.
I still can't seem to be able to wake up before 6:30... any suggestions? I'd love to get to the gym in the AM but I'd have to be there by 6:00 the latest to get my routine in (about an hour and fifteen minutes) and get home to shower/ dress and eat. I like to be in the office by 8:30 the latest.
newengland, what's wrong with going to the gym after work? why you so insistent on going to the gym before work? instead of after work? dex
Yeah, as stated above.... I like to be in the office around 8:30, I'm usually there till about 4:00 and then depending on schedules I'll meet with 2-5 clients in the evening. So alot of times I don't get home till 9ish. or later. That's Monday thru Thursday (if no league thurs). Fridays I try to be home by 6:30 caus' I'm shot.
While I'm not the biggest Bill Phillips fan in the world, I did once get something from one of his Body For Life videos that was pretty good.
One of the biggest excuses people make is that they do not have time for working out. If you are really dedicated, you have to make working out a priority. "You never hear people say, I didn't brush my teeth today because I didn't have time." Exercise has to be put right up there with eating, sleeping, & bathing.
The fitness center at work has this other quote posted in various places:
Those who do not find time for exercise early on in life will later have to find time for sickness.
They have a picture of the Grim Reaper there too... Not sure if that counts as positive motivation.

One thing I was thinking about was your workout routine. You mentioned the other day that you were doing Chest and Shoulders. While this is a great thing if you are a body builder, you sound like you are pressed for time. Have you thought about doing shorter workouts? I have gotten pretty good results in the past doing just upper body twice a week and only a few exercises. It makes it easier to fit into your schedule and not so bad if you need to juggle a little bit (e.g tuesday friday instead of monday friday)
