If you can its a really good idea to train in the morning before a match. The training should be light and fairly light hearted. Have a sleep after training. Wake up at least 3 hours before the game, dont eat anything later that 2 hours before the game, if you do thats what gives you the butterflys. You should eat something high in carbohydrates like pasta. If you are really hungry before the game have a banana or maybe a cereal bar. Drink a pint of water before the match and during the game have a proper sports drink for time outs.

Dont have coffee or chocolate, sugary snacks or high caffeine drinks like Red Bull (in fact you should never drink that stuff, its %100 bad for you).

Smile I can tell you what not to do, Dont eat Wendy's - 10-24-2005, 12:10 PM

I have a friend who plays ball right after work, three out of three times he went to Wendy's and his game was horrible! So now the team tells him daily to wait until the games is over to eat. Hunger is a great motavator....

We started feeding him granola bars before the game seemed to stop the complaining.

O yeah and his game is back to normal.......

P.S. Wendy's Rocks, just not before a game...... $0.99 chicken nuggets all white meat

One good suggestion! - 10-24-2005, 04:25 PM

The key is simply blocking out the days events and obtain total focus! I obtain total focus by closing my eyes and thinking how I want the game to turn out, for example: I'm a hitter and I love hitting line (who doesn't) so I picture what it will take for me to obtain the goal. If I don't the sweet set, so what, theres always tomorrow the next game!

Have a party! - 01-22-2008, 08:32 AM

Have a party before and after a win!

The last time won a game the cats were hung over. Here are some goofy kitty pics to give you idea!

Anyone else have Mascots (AKA PETS) they love to show off?

And you still can't hit a curve ball.

When I was playing I would eat 5 hours before a game.....I would listen to music (something upbeat....just to keep me loose. Find what works for you and go with it.
