Tournament Check List - 07-17-2006, 09:12 AM

So I just did a grass tournament and I thought I had everything I needed but it turns out I could have used a few more things. I thought I'd start my first thread and list the things that I brought as well as the things I wish I had.

Things I brought:

Water
Gatorade
Advil
Ankle Brace
Food/Snacks
Towel
Chair
Sunscreen
Hat
Pump
Needle

Things I wish I brought:

A masseuse
A Change of socks!
A volleyball

Any other recommendations?

No volleyball? - 07-17-2006, 12:27 PM

How'd you end up at a tournament without a volleyball?

Here's some of my suggestions:
A first aid kit with bandaids, antiseptic, blister pads, ace wraps, etc.
a change of socks is a good one....I usually bring a few pairs.
An extra pair of sneakers in case the ones you're wearing are causing blisters.
Deoderant foot spray to prevent blisters
Some kind of shade like a pop up tent....a friend of ours got an easy up tent at the sports authority for $40.00 this season.
More then one pair of sunglasses (in case the ones you're wearing breaks)
Some kind of muscle rub to put on a sore shoulder, knee, quad etc. between matches.
A long sleeve tee or long pants in case it gets chilly, or in case you go out to a restaurant afterwards and the air is kickin too much (I think this one is a "girl thing") Or even having a change of clothes is good in case you have a far drive home and you don't want to drive home in your sweaty ones.

If I think of any more I'll post em'

Music is a good one....I bring my Ipod everywhere anyway, so I usually have it with me for a tournament.

I gave my old ball to my brother because he needs it more than I do and my new balls are on their way to me. FEDEX.com says they should be here tomorrow!

I bought Wilson AVP Offical Balls... Don't worry, I got a good price since I ordered half a dozen. Now I am just going to have to work the oil off of them in the sand...
