Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championships
Presented by East End Volleyball
2008 will mark the 2nd Annual Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament that will be held in the Dominican Republic November 2008 (final date to be announced).
The Caribbean Tourism Development Company (CTDC) and East End Volleyball have joined forces again to produce the event. The tournament will be held on a different Island every year. The series went so well in 2007 that we have expanded it to 10 qualifier events in 2008:

Win a trip to the Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championships:
1st Place Men’s Open and Women’s Open Teams at the following events win trips including airfare, 3 nights hotel & entry fee:
a. Siesta Key, FL March 1-2
b. Clearwater Beach April 26-27
c. Hilton Head May 3-4 + Isle of Palms June (TBA)
d. Long Beach, NY June during NYC Caribbean Week
e. Pt Pleasant, NJ TBA
f. Newport, RI July 26-27
g. New London, CT August 9-10
h. Long Beach, NY August 2-3
i. Atlantic City, NJ Sept. 20-21
j. Myrtle Beach, SC Sept. 27-28
k. Dates subject to change. Final dates will be verified by 4/15/08
Details:
• Players may only win more than 1 trip per season. The second trip can only be used for another person at this tournament only.
• Trip includes
o Round trip airfare up to $300. Players will receive a reimbursement check for their ticket when they arrive in the Dominican Republic. (Amount reimbursed may be adjusted if circumstances require such as if a player comes from a location with limited service to the DR)
o 3 nights hotel in the tournaments host hotel
o Entry fee into the Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championships
The Caribbean Championships are open to players of all levels. In addition to Open Division competition there will also be Men’s & Women’s AA, A & B divisions. Complete info is online at:

Look for special tourism trips to be held in the week before the Championships. Plant to come early to get a full Caribbean Island experience.
The Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championship will award $2,000 cash prizes as well as the Caribbean Challenge Trophy.
The Hiler Trophy – named in honor of Guy H. Hiler, a Caribbean national who became involved in working for the promotion and uplifting of Caribbean people – will be awarded to a player who best exemplifies true sportsmanship and the spirit of the Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championship. The 2007 winner was JJ Colina, who spends a lot of his free time putting together the Vball Tampa web site that keeps players well informed on volleyball activities in the Tampa, FL area.
