Blocking - 05-07-2006, 09:24 PM

Isn't blocking fun? Today I blocked my first full on hit. All the other times, it was just a free ball coming over or something, and I was just there. It felt pretty awesome.

Does anyone remember their first block or a memorable block? I just wish I was taller. Maybe I'll go increase my vertical over the summer. Hm....

Wong: I think you blocked me at the setter clinic... It was a girls net... And I am a setter- but it was still a block ahaha...

I remember my first full block ina varsity game. The kid cou;dn't swing line - but was feared for being a "hard hitter" - you know the average outside that just closes his eyes, throws his shoulder out - and gets called a god for it.

He swung as hard as he could, and it only made it go down faster... Get your real pumped up - throw in a taunt from the crowd like "he can't hit past you!" and they set him all day, to just get block againa nd again...

Gotta love dumb hitters...

Hmm.. I don't get too many terminal blocks but I had a real good one against Yankee C+ a couple weekends ago (I'm a C-, see the ratings thread if you don't know what that means). Felt good to roof a higher level player.
