is it me, or has volleyball decreased in popularity every year? with these websites that have closed down. i suspect/expect in the east coast(especially new england, there won't be any organization running 2's in the next 5-10 years ,tournaments except for avp, if that is still around in the future) comments? questions? agree? disagree? dex
ps, what are some volleyball websites(for tournaments, that is and maybe locations to play, maybe players looking for players), i know of eastcoast.com/greatamericanvolleyball.com/eevb.net/gmvb.com/newportvolleyballclub.com/oh yea, please what is the website for southernconnecticutclub for sherwood and winsted. what others are out there there????? thank you.
if there is change to be made, i am firm believer, we must get the teens to start playing and enjoying vb like the rest of us for vb to continue

I do not agree. Just because nobody wants to play with you doens't mean nobody is playing.

Dex, I'm guessing you're just not looking hard enough. Within ~2 hours of hartford, you can find a doubles tournament most every weeked from May to September... There's westport, vbli, beacon, winsted (Ok it's triples), new london and albany.

Chicago's North Avenue Beach has tournaments almost every weekend during the summer. It's a pain in the butt trying to organize my group of 90 people to get prime courts during those tournaments.

The local semi-pro circuit... the EVP, added more stops this year, too.

So short answer is no.

The great thing about playing sand is the longevity you have at playing as opposed to indoors. Your legs and knees last so much longer playing sand, which creates a greater overlap of older and newer players. Plus the ball is slightly lighter which reduces shoulder injuries/problems.

Newport Vb alone should tell you 2's vb is no where near dead. There are tournaments EVERY weekend. Other than that, like the others said there are tons of tournaments. Check out the following sites for great grass and sand tournaments.

Sherwood Island is Southern Connecticut Volleyball: Home Page
Boston Volleyball Association Boston Volleyball - 617.332.2320 - Adult & Youth Volleyball in New England!
Newport Volleyball Club Newport Volleyball Club
East End Volleyball eevb.com
Boston Ski and Sports Club www.bssc.com

If you are going to be around Maine there is also grass court tournaments at
index

and GREAT beach play in Old Orchard Beach practically every day

That doesn't even include winstead, no beach, or any of the other fundraiser tournaments and those alone will give you your fill of VB.

hey nert the smartallack, i wasn't even talking about me, i was talking about the popularity of vb going down with these website closing down. it seems popularity of vb has gone down in the past several years. take that in your pipe and smoke it. hey nert, you completely missed what i was talking about. i was talking about the decrease of the popularity of vb. dex
ps, so nert, you don't think vb has gone down in popularity? look around, it's not like it was. websites closing down, not as many people on beaches playing 2's. look around

Just picking up from another post somewhere around here, but can we institute or recommend a MLA/grammatical format for posts. Most everybody seems to be able to form coherent sentences (and just as important, aesthetically pleasing) and then there are other posts that look like someone just bashed their head against the keyboard a few times.

*grumble, grumble... degrading communication standards... grumble*

Rev -- QWERTY QWERTY isn't a word. If I was not so busy I'd tell them to use I.E. and click on the ABC button above or near the smiles for spell check / grammar. Or I can mention FireFox does it by default.
Either way, you had me at "aesthetically pleasing" uhmmmmmmmmmm.......

Dex,

Are you serious? No way, In fact its just the opposite. Grass tourneys alone you can play almost every weekend just between L.I. and C.T. Beach Include NJ and it is every weekend without question.
