agrees with mycena, about towns putting restrictions on public locations which have decreased space for vb. dex

Dex,

Are you serious? No way, In fact its just the opposite. Grass tourneys alone you can play almost every weekend just between L.I. and C.T. Beach Include NJ and it is every weekend without question.

Glenn
glenn, i didn't say there aren't any tournaments. i just said 2's has decreased in popularity, which is my oppinion. i've been to tournaments in the past, and i didn't see as many nets set up. which would indicate decrease in popularity right glenn? plus what's your explanation websites that have supported vb,close down? to me,the interest is down(not over with, just down) why else would a website supporting vb just close down???? the websites would have stayed running with sufficient interest. there you go glenn, dex
ps, first time you respond to something i have to say

What websites in particular are you talking about? As far as that goes, until I know what you are talking about I won't even try to explain. But from what I've noticed tournaments have more teams playing now than in years past. Of course sometimes tournaments won't have good showings but for the most part there are more teams in tournaments than before

ps, what are some volleyball websites(for tournaments, that is and maybe locations to play, maybe players looking for players), i know of eastcoast.com/greatamericanvolleyball.com/eevb.net/gmvb.com/newportvolleyballclub.com/oh yea, please what is the website for southernconnecticutclub for sherwood and winsted. what others are out there there????? thank you.
if there is change to be made, i am firm believer, we must get the teens to start playing and enjoying vb like the rest of us for vb to continue
Recent studies have shown that in the Northeastern United States that increased cigarette smoking and increased caffiene consumption by pre-pubescent teenage single mothers have led to a dramatic decline in birthweight. In addition further studies have suggested that the result of such heinous addictions are the root cause of stunted growth. Because of the stunted growth, there are less tall people in the Northeast, and hence less volleyball nets put up, and hence more websites are shutting down. It is a real sad state of affairs. And this is why volleyball is not nearly the popular sport it was last weekend.

Yeah, definately nobody was playing this weekend. We had 8 doubles teams playing on the local court. It got so busy that we set up an extra net (that's +1 for the scientists who are studying carefully) to play and another six people showed up who went to another park to play because it was too crowded. Six other people showed up who didn't even bother stepping on the court and just played hoops at the adjoining courts.

The talk of the court was who played in the New London Tournament and who is going to play in the Newport Tournament the following weekend.

I should drop a couple of the TD's a line and see if registrations are up or down for the last few years.

Yeah like... - 06-05-2007, 01:14 AM

Yeah like, nobody's playing volleyball anymore....'cept...

Mon./today - me and about a dozen guys and girls at Men's sand league tonight...and...

Sun./yesterday - me and about 100 other people at HVV this weekend 2's...and

Sat. - me and about 150-200 other people at Horsham day 2's...

too bad nobody's playing volleyball anymore - lol

To use RevJim's vocabulary..."I found the lineup of net after net after net, offset by volleyball players, blue sky, green grass and trees very aesthetically/visually pleasing "

I dig it
