Good, now let's all go out and play some doubles. I'll be at Cheshire tonight at 6:00.

No one here has really found much to support those claims. Therefore, I would conclude that volleyball is as popular as it ever was if not, more; AND that East Coast 2's have not died.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I think the popularity of posts about East Coast 2's being "dead" has been decreasing every day. That has definitely been supported by this thread. And I would think at this point that this issue is "dead".

Dead???? - 08-08-2007, 07:45 PM

I have been playing beach doubles tournaments almost every weekend this year, and it is far from dying. Actually it is the healthiest that I have seen it in 5 years or so. Wayne who runs GAV has had around 200 teams at many events. 200!!! that is a big tournament. Rich Heiles of EEVB has had the best turnouts of open level teams on Long Island that I have ever seen. 29 mens open one tourney and 25 at another in Long Beach. I played in the AVP qualifier in Seaside and there were probably 8 local teams playing in that. The EVP event in Long Beach was a little light on entries, but at the same time on the same day there were tournaments in Long Beach(EEVB), Point Pleasant(EEVB), Atlantic City(GAV), Ocean City(Toyota), and a few guys went to the Chicago AVP to play as well. It sure sounds like things are healthy from my perspective.
P.S. - Borga ran himself into the ground. Thats why Wayne is doing so well, because the players are still here.
