I once watched a farther slap his son at a club match, the coach got in the mans face and totally lost it. I wish I knew more about the aftermath of the incident, but I don't. P.S. this was in TX. I have never seem this behavior in VB since. I have seen it in Soccer, Hockey and Baseball. Volleyball is a 99% Parental Free Zone!

At one of my home tournaments, the finals actually. We were facing a thus far undefeated team. One of the parents was talking trash about us to his son. And said he was humiliated that he was not putting the ball down.
Needless to say - after hearing this, we jumped higher, blocked better. They set him nearly every time, nearly everytime he swung harder. Each time we blocked it better and better. Only made them more angry. Made us play better.
Finally they started blocked were a few comments from our crowd rang "haha he can't hit past us - he can't even put a dink down".
I'll always remember the father storming out of the rec center cursing.
