Leg rule - 05-04-2007, 06:43 PM

Hi, I was wondering, when a person is playin beach volleyball or indoor volleyball...can a person use their leg or feet to hit the ball? and if the ball hits the head or any other part of the body, is the ball still in play?

While bad form... Yes it's allowed. Also note that you can carry the ball or double contact it still - those rules don't go out the window.

Clarification. It is OK for all rule sets except for those who are playing under NFHS rules which is the majority of HS in the US. USAV (Club), beach, international, etc... it is OK. You may run into some local leagues that still do not allow it depending on how "old school" the league director is or how worried they are about injuries from kicking the ball. The injury issue is the major hang up for the NFHS not allowing it.

Only off of bump sets though - otherwise that'd be silly, right?

I remember back in '95 or '96 when some guy was head bumping the ball rather than spiking it. But we were playing old skool, or rather high school rules.

Do you head block as well? Ever bump heads during a joust when you are both headblocking and headspiking?

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

What about head serving? Do you prefer underhead, or overhead?
