The post-tournie party at NERT/ AirDiney's was fun too! Way to clean out the beer fridge folks!

Although we did not win many games, the competition was good. I got my first Yankee Tourney out of the way and am looking forward to playing in many more.

and unquote.

Played at Lincoln-Sudbury for a Co-ed volleyball tournament. It was kinda last second because my club team was supposed to go to the Bay State Invitational this weekend in NY, but that was cancelled because of the snow.

So here we were at the tournament. I don't think we won at all, but I think we did pretty well for a team that has never played co-ed before...except for the coaches that played with us though.

Lots of people were there! Strazz was there, but he was in a different tournament, I think. Then another guy (probably from VBLI cause he asked me about it) was there. If you're on, say hi!

Hm. The competition was INTENSE. I wanna play at that level/higher again. I got a re-rateable...whatever that means. Someone explain that to me please. Ratings and whatnot.

I wish my coach had me playing backrow as well as front row. For the women's net, he only had me in the front row to hit, and for the men's net, he only had me front row to set. What a weird combination. I have to admit, I missed setting. I thought it'd be a catastrophe because I haven't set since my junior year of high school. Aka, I was a bit rusty, but it was still fun.

Overall, I liked it, and I'd do it again. Maybe if another one of our tournaments get cancelled...

I played in an "invite only" gym Saturday morning in Chicago. This was the first time playing since Sunday when I pulled my calf muscle. I made sure that I warmed it up by using a heating pad a few hours before I played. It took me a couple of games before I was able to run well. By my third game I was jumping and blocking and it felt ok. I ran a 5-1 the whole day and didn't lose any games after my calf warmed up enough to jump. The calf definitely locked back up after I got home and sat around though.

We got snowed out for the Yankee scramble
So instead, I went out and partied like I was Irish
And then the hot tub on Sunday evening was a good way to wind up the weekend

I can't say I'm overly upset that the Scramble was cancelled. I really wanted to play ball, but 14" of powder on Jiminy Peak was a welcome alternative.

And yes, the hot tub rounded out the weekend nicely.

Yo...

Got into my first doubles foray of the summer - grass coed reverse tourney at Sherwood Island.

Played in the BB level and the competition in our pool was pretty good for the most part, and judging from the other pools, their competition was about equal. I didn't see much in the way of sandbaggers, but maybe that was due to a twisted ankle (cough cough).

The weather was good, the play was good... and despite not finishing quite as high as we'd have liked - it was a good weekend. Definately got me jonesed up for the rest of the doubles season. Though, perhaps with less mindless body demolition on my end
