Strazz VS Manzi verticals.....let's start a new thread here - 06-21-2006, 09:34 PM

Okay, new thread time on the perpetual discussion of verticals.

In my prime, I could flat jump and touch the rim on basketball backboard. Being 5'10 I thought that was pretty good.

Now I am a good 3-5 inches short of that, but I'm wiley and smarter in play.

Let's get out the tape measures and videos for the young guys and girls too. We want proof!!

Playing til I die,

I can grab rim.... As for video and exact touch... My highest recorded touch was 10'6" at camp last year when I was a counsilor. This year I'll try to tape it

We've got AirDine measured @ 20 inches. Not too shabby for a lady. I've heard that the average vert for a guy is 36 is that true? (I've intentionally left out what mine is )

I had 24'' last season, but I'm a shorty so I need every inch I can get! What's the average for a female? Anyone know?

Libero's Can Jump!? - 06-22-2006, 09:23 AM

Junior year of highschool, 2004 I had the second highest vert on the team. I "touched in" at 39 inches (my highest point minus my standing). This was also an approach jump as apposed to a block jump. Since then I have grown and worked out (specifiacally for my vert). I have been told I jump a lot higher now. I have no way of testing how high my vert is now though.

Here is a Vert Jump test. Blah blah. It doesn't really tell you how high you can jump but really just gives 'averages'. When you play with the heights and weights the verticals stay the same. So for women basically elite athletes average 22 (inches I assume), adult women age 18-29 would be 13.2 Whatever.

All I have to say is man can I put out some mean power!

Oh maybe I lied, I think I was having Mac issues with that website. I don't think I could see all those labels. Diney of course you kick buttox. You didnt need some random calculator to tell you that. Of course I still hit harder than you. hahahah I think the calculator is flawed. I think that my 13 inch vert deserves more props than it gets.
