Temps for Jun 3 tournament - 05-14-2006, 11:20 AM

Here is a pic from last Saturdays tournament here in Phx.
Yeah, It's a dry heat, but my oven is dry and it cooks a turkey every year too.

Actual temp was 101.(Not 120) About 4 percent humidity.

If it is 78 in Long Island Jun 3, what will humidity be like?. Maybe I should pray for record low temp and sunshine.

Hi OT,

Temps in upstate NY right now are highs in 60's and low's in 40's with humidity around 50% (depending on the day, of course) - in another 3 weeks when we're all due in NYC/Long Island area - temps will probably be another 5 to 10 deg higher.

Yesterday I played a 2's tourney in Philly with Cheetah - I think it got up into the 70's at one point. Then the rain came. Cheetah & I played mudpie volleyball for one match and I think the temp dropped a little. We were a little insane playing through a bit of thunder and lightning. Little creepy standing next to those metal volleyball net poles at that time. But hey, at least we took some game breaks when the bad lightening and rains came - I think the men's open net kept going the whole time. Cheetah and I actually were walking thru the parking lot when a cop car came up to us and he asked why all these volleyball players were so insane to be playing thru thunder and lightning. We just kinda shrugged our shoulders...

OK, so Long Island (Queens) weather in June can be a little unpredictable. It may be as hot as 80 or as cool as 55 during the day and the evening could be 60's to 40's.

Here's a guide line. If it's going to be hot it'll be humid most likely. For you folks who are already playing in boardshorts & bikini's you'd best bring some Long Sleeve T's and sweatshirts for the AM and after dark. Be prepared to get skimpy if it is hot.

Layers and options my friend, layers and options!

Don't forget to bring your tight black club shirt to go out (see glenn's myspace page for a reference). Laf Just kidding!

I hate to be the barer of bad news or anything like it but the temp can be pretty unpredictable. So, Like NERT said, if it's chilly it'll be chilly, and if it's warm (near the record 90) It'd feel pretty hot. 74 would absolutely rock!! Pray for the average!

Here's today for you.

:knock on wood:

It could always be worse - we're having flooding right now... My finals have all been postponed - since half the road in the city are flooded... I'll take some pics of the river by my dorm and post them - looks insane.

Ya,
As they say, "Typical New England Weather"- could be snowing one day, and 90 degrees the next. Although, I guess NY isn't in New England, but close enough!
