What is the worse injury you have played with? - 03-24-2006, 08:47 AM

We have treads on the best games, worst conditions, greatest leagues and so much more, but a question that seems to always be missed is how much heart or stubbornness do you really have.

What is the worse injury you have played with?

uh, broken fingers and twisted ankles. I went up for a block, and blocked the ball with my finger wrong...whoops. I came down and my right ring finger was 90° to the right. Worst feeling in the world. I had to re-set it and put on an atrocious amount of tape. Yup, kept playing, too...

Stiff ankle. Then a sore knee and shoulder from repetitive stress. All 3 healed on their own, no surgery needed {knock on wood}.

severely sprained ankle, taped so stiff it was like a cast. Had to work on it all day too, climbing ladders.

most recently a monthlong case of plantar faciaitis(stretching the tendon between ball of foot and heel). Playing 3 nights a week indoors and sand on weekends prolonged healing.

Playing til I die,

Right now I'm waiting on MRI results to find out if I have a torn meniscus - people with chronic knee problems have all my sympathy - I don't know how they can play with this type of pain. Oldies - played with a stress fracture for 2 months, broke my finger in playoffs kept playing even though it was almost twice its normal size. I try to tell myself I'm older and wiser since it only took about 2 weeks of almost constant pain to finally get my knee checked out...

Thru it all keep listening to music and buying good sneakers. Braces have lots!

1/17/08 -Er states-Torn left rotary Cuff Car accident just last night. Car is totaled. Serve with the right arm. Sugury who knows? Going to the Doctor today. Love MEDS

10/07-Dislocated finger setting.

11/26/06 Motorcycle accident got hit by a mini-van parking lot bike cracked my right knee cap in Half. Causing my ACL screws to loosen. Had those removed 3/13/07. Same leg as ACL Repair.

8/26/04-AcL Reconstruction Surgery after Injury in 11/23/03 blown out in a soccer game. Torn cartilage as well. Out for a year and half. Pain in the rear. Big time.

7/10/96-Three wheeler engine lands on my right knee causing partial tear in ACL.
Though did not have surgery.

3/35/95-Broken sternum from falling from a horse.

I think that is it?

Played coed with a girl I used to coach against two guys playing indoor doubles hard court. Fractured my foot during the game, but didn't want to lose against them two tools. Played and won, even got a stuff block after the fracture.

I'd have to say severely strained lat. Couldn't raise my right hand to hit, block, serve. I did get one nasty kill left handed. Ended up losing my games but I'd rather try.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
