One benefit of playing in a completely open rec. environment is the ability to try new things everytime I'm there. I can focus on one technique for the whole night and not worry if the rest of my game suffers for it. |
Exactly, earlier in the season I was ready to give up playing in Hamden but I realized that it is still a decent forum to add different aspects to my game. Since the play there is not very competitive I can practice different serves all night or work on other things too.
A couple of years ago I thought a successful night there was based on how many games I won there, but now Its like I see things differently and success there for me is any night I can accomplish what I set out to do. If my passing is off, I work on that, I can try new serves and I work on placing and angling my hits more. That is what I now define as a good night of Rec. volleyball.
