What would you do if you could never play VB again? - 02-12-2007, 10:01 AM

What would you do if you could never play VB again? Forget the reason, details aren't important, however, if you could never step foot on the court again what would you do, how would you feel?

In many sports you are potentially one play away from never playing again. Its part of the game. What would be a major blow for me would be for something to happen off the court which would result in never being able to play again. Unfortunately i would probably get depressed at that fact that I could not play anymore, and all of my friends could. That said, I eventually would have to pick up the pieces and move on to something that I was able to do. Being depressed and miserable doesn't solve problems.

I'd be more worried about what else I wouldn't be able to do if I could never play. Sure I like playing ball but I rate walking and chewing solid food higher up the list.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I have to say this is totally true. I cant help but think what would happen if.... It's not if but more a matter of when. We all have a "game clock" and some run out sooner then others. I guess it's about facing our mortality.

Two summers ago I played VB beach with a 59 yo who has played for over 40 years. There is hope of all......

Nice, bring digestion and functional movement into this .

I agree, but the question I think is more if there was a serious knee injury, heart condition etc.

Supposed to be a joke i.e. no injury would keep me from playing I've played on w/sprained ankles, knee injuries, rotator cuff issues, etc. I would crawl onto the court if I had to, get artificial limbs, etc. Only quit for a while when I had significant others that didn't play. Needless to say I'm playing again - ha ha!
