glad to hear you had a good time at seaside heights. it was about 3 hour drive down there mycena? where was your first avp event you saw?? dex
ps, anyone going to the avp events in brooklyn and/or boston in august??
As I already mentioned, I will be going to the Boston AVP event.
Yup, It took us about 3 hours to get down there. We ended up meeting at someones house at 5 am so that we could be in Seaside Heights at 8 am to watch a guy we know play in the qualifiers. After a minor incident with cars smashing into ours, we got to the beach in time to watch his second game. Unfortunately they weren't able to play well enough to move onto the second round.
I went to Coney Island last year for my first AVP event. But I only went down on the day of the finals and we parked our fannies in some good seats center court but we were limited to what matches they put in front of us.
Since we had four days of volleyball to watch this year, we walked around, picked the players we liked and wanted to see. Not to mention last year at Coney Island the mens finals were on Sat. so Sunday was only womens matches. As Seaside Heights I had plenty of time to watch the guys too ;-)
Sorry I'm slacking on picts. Here's one to wet the appetite. It's a serve from Ty Loomis.

Well on that note I guess I'll be off to the gym....
By the way, it was great meeting you and Tim this past weekend at the AVP
Mycena got a few good pics like that. There's one of Dalhausser blocking that is just sick. His armpits are over the net and his arms are parallel with the ground.
