agrees with james, beach vb would be more popular if there were more indoor beach courts. james,i have had the occasion to play indoor beach in new york and connecticut many times. have you played indoor beach james? i know hot shots in rochester ny has indoor beach. i am not sure where you are in ny is how far from hotshots in rochester???? dex

agrees 100% with nobadsets. beach volleyball rulesssssss. during beautiful weather playing outside beach(grass isn't bad either) is ideal while playing indoor beach is ideal during inclement weather. playing 2's is much better in my oppinion over 6's anyday when i have the choice. 6's is ok,i would rather play 6's than not play at all. you know what? if you can find a place indoors, playing 2's on wooden floor/sport court is alwayssss good. 1 last comment,i am completly shocked that indoors vb kicked butt over beach 57%to 40%. i was hoping the beach be more popular than indoors but alas no. that mean beach vb is fading in popularity??? in my oppinion beach has decreased,is decreasing, will decrease in the future(in the east coast anyways). coachmanzi, would you say beach vb has increased or decreased popularity in recent years????dex

ps, attention all vb players who read this. everyone just hang on please:i was a huge steve "crocodile hunter/wildlife warrier" fan. i loved his show/enjoyed it alot.he practiced what he preached about animals. wildlilfe conservation with the aussie enthousiasm and passion. i am sad he passed on. leaving american wife terri and 2 kids, bindi who's 8 and robert who is 3,his dad is still alive. steve has 2 sisters, mandie and joy,and terri has 2 sisters. mum died in 2000 and son in 2006 we'll miss you mate!! "thank you for coming with me"
thank you everyone for indulging me. not sure if am only one who was a fan of croc hunter?

This is not a scientific or even random sampling. ~100 people from an internet site does not a good survey make. Trust the signs that beach doubles volleyball is on the RISE. AVP tour on a major network twice every weekend, Women's olympic volleyball had more coverage than a lot of other sports (maybe it's the scantily clad women, but sex sells in this country), Misty May is almost a household name, and the AVP tour had an expanded schedule.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Sand.... - 10-19-2006, 03:41 PM

I think playing on the beach is better. Ultimately you need to be better conditioned. I think if you take the time to condition yourself, a beach game can be almost as fast and exciting as an indoor game; it is a much better workout too. In my experience playing on the sand, the group of guys I play with (and we play 3-4 times a week from May - October) practically hit the ball just as well on the sand as on a hardcourt. Our games are not really 'slower' and out power is not sacrificed by the presence of sand.

And playing doubles on the sand is pretty sick. You are in on every play, and you really need to use your head more. It's all about anticipation.

Beach by far - 10-21-2006, 01:09 AM

I would trade the entire indoor season for another month on the beach. There is absolutely no comparison. The beach requires you to be a much more complete player ... and you get a tan!
