1st Annual Hymen Pomerantz Memorial Volleyball Tournament - 01-20-2008, 06:03 PM

The Pomerantz family has announced the first Annual Hymen Pomerantz Memorial Volleyball Tournament. The event will be held Saturday, February 23 at Westwood Regional High School from 8 am to 6 pm. The Township of Washington family wishes to honor the recently departed Hymen Pomerantz with a scholarship fund for a local high school student. Funds from the tournament entry fees and local sponsorships will benefit the scholarship.

The tournament format will be coed 6-player volleyball teams with a minimum of 2 females per team. There will be 2 divisions in the tournament: skilled and recreational. There will be a $100 entry fee per team. Plus all players must be members of AVPNext, the grass roots organization of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour which is $10- per player. Registration is limited to 20 teams

To raise additional scholarship funds a silent auction and raffle will be held at the tournament. Local businesses wishing to become involved should contact Geri Pomerantz at 631-398-1645.

The tournament will be run by East End Volleyball, the largest beach volleyball tour on the east coast. Additional tournament info can be found online at East End Volleyball.
