Looking for Volleyball programs and coaches in Colorado - 11-12-2005, 08:14 PM

We will be relocating to Colorado from Ohio at the end of this school year and are looking for a high school with a good volleyball sports program and coach. Do you have any information that you could pass on to help us in making our decision? We are looking to move anywhere north of Denver to Loveland. We would like to be in a smaller community with a high school population of around 1000 or less. We have lived in larger communities and have found we prefer living somewhere where you're not just a number, where you can get to know the people in the community. I have a daughter that is graduating this year so we are staying till she is finished with her senior year. She played school and club volleyball for many years, and I also have two other daughters who play. I have a freshman this year who started for her JV team as middle hitter and also played some varsity. She and her younger sister also play club ball. It is important to her to continue playing and I don't want to put her into a poor program or with a poor coach. I would appreciate any advice you can give me since I have no idea where to start looking. Thank you very much for your time.

Some of the strongest programs in the state are in Northern Colorado if you are looking for smaller schools. Mtn. View HS in Loveland has the two time defending state champions at the 4A level with an exceptional coaching staff, two of which also coach at a club in Ft. Collins, (NORCO). Greeley West HS has a strong program and is also 4A. Mtn View and West are both ranked #2 and #4 in state this year going into the state tourney. At the 3A level, programs like Eaton HS (Eaton), Platte Valley HS (Kersey) and Valley HS (Gilcrest) all have a ton of volleyball history and success, and all are a mainstay at state tourneys each year. If you are interested in club teams, in my opinion in the Northern half of the state NORCO, out of Ft. Collins is one of the top three clubs in the state. They field 10-14 teams each year and are very competitive at each level. To find another club that is as successful as NORCO you will have to travel to Denver and spend a little more money. Front Range VBC is
out of Denver and has one of the most impressive club resumes in the nation, they don't field as many teams, but each team is extremely successful.
