Lightbulb Volleyball championnat du monde 1956 - 06-27-2007, 10:56 PM

I found this buried in a message in RSV. A video on volleyball from 1956. I guess it would help if you spoke French.

Interesting on the overhand passing technique being used in the video...

The RSV message was noting the 2nd official sitting in a chair at a match near the end of the video.

About the overhand passing...

I know that a while ago in beach volleyball everyone overhand dug spikes. Also there was very rarely blocking since you couldn't penetrate the net. You always had to stay on your own side of the net.

It is interesting how the game has changed from when it was first invented.

If you get a chance to view the YouTube video with sound, let us know. We do not need to know everything they say, (I expect it is pretty generic), it might be interesting to hear any comments about who was playing who, anything about techniques for playing volleyball, how popular it was, etc...
