Fellow Volleyballers,
At long last, the Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association (SSOVA) is proud to present our 2006 Summer Tour. The schedule is as follows:
May 13-14: Sand Key Beach Park- Clearwater, FL
June 3-4: Ft Myers Beach, FL
July 29-30: South of the Pier- Clearwater, FL
August 12-13: CHAMPIONSHIPS- Siesta Key, FL
* Sorry guys no east coast stops again for the summer, but we are definitely working on expanding to the other coast soon!
** We did our best to make sure that there were no tournaments that conflicted with other tours tournament dates, as well as any conflicts with the AVP Pro Tour schedule. However, some organizations have changed their schedules after their initial releases, which made some conflicts unavoidable. Our goal at SSOVA is to give players as many playing opportunities as possible, whether it be on our tour or someboy else's!

Here are a few things to look forward to in the 2006 Summer Tour and beyond:
- Better prize packages and sponsors for amateur levels (Men's, Women's, & Co-Ed B, A, AA, Boys & Girls U18 & U15)- NO MORE GIFT CERTIFICATES!
- Increased total prize money for open level play (Men, Women, & Co-Ed), with a minimum total purse of $1500 per event
- The best tour to prepare open players to move up to the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour and qualifier play, with a true professional format: 2 out of 3 games, double elimination bracket play
- An all new SSOVA Juniors Tour (with multiple age divisions), co-sanctioned by AVPNext and USA Beach Volleyball, which will include a chance for players to win a trip to Southern California to compete in USA Beach Volleyball Triple Crown events
- Live music (courtesy of the SSOVA Staff band, Big Deal) and a DJ at EVERY EVENT!
- A new and improved website,
www.sunshinestatevolleyball.com, with comprehensive tour information, player rankings, photos, videos, and event information
- Better host hotels and player party venues, posted well in advance of each event
- Possible AVPNext Wildcard Tournaments for Atlanta and Birmingham Opens
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, we will continue our mission to provide the most player friendly environment of any beach volleyball tour in Florida, as a tour done by players, for players!
Our new website,
www.sunshinestatevolleyball.com, was released this week, although much of the site is currently under construction and will be updated soon. Please check back soon for updates and we hope to see you at SAND KEY on Saturday, May 13th!
