College beach tourney challenges - 03-25-2008, 05:27 PM

This weekend (March 29) Club V will be hosting the Sunshine Conference challenge between its Division II college women's volleyball programs. Each school will be sending teams to represent it in doubles beach volleyball competition. Admission is free and the first matches start at 8:30am

April 12-13 the University of Florida will be hosting the SEC Coaches Challenge, with each SEC university sending its varsity women to Gainesville to compete in the doubles beach volleyball tournament. Medal matches start around 4pm. Karch Kiraly is the star of the volleyball dinner on Friday before the tournament (see University of Florida Athletics ***GatorZone.com*** and click on Volleyball for more information).

Also on April 12-13, Club V will be hosting the first-ever High School Challenge, with high school players in teams of 4 competing for bragging rights on the sand. Be true to your school!

April 19-20 DigTheBeach.Com is having its inaugural Div I Invitational, with NCAA Div 1 colleges sending teams to compete at Siesta Key in a doubles beach tournament alongside its normal beach tournament event. Even if you aren't playing, you can still watch the college women battle it out on the sand for their schools. Go Gators!

I posted up some of the better pics (about 70) from the event over on
Tampa_Bay_Volleyball : Tampa Bay Volleyball

I also posted the full set of pics (about 200), including the less-
than-perfect ones, on webshots at
2008 Sunshine State Collegiate Women's Beach Volleyball pictures from volleyball photos on webshots

If I get a chance, I'll post up the best 70 here.
