This event is June 16th this year- website is web.ics.purdue.edu/~aschinck/
Six person coed - grass - 2 levels competitive (open -recruit anyone- I mean anyone- all -Americans - US national team have played in the past- IUPU-FW and other varsity men) and intermediate B level. Cost $5.00 per person.
Yes look at the photos on the coldest day of the year and you will really want summer to come - if you are playing on a team or league - I can mail you additional flyers to pass out -
The competitive is recruit who ever you can - open level - so former teammates and their friends who play for schools like BSU or IUPUI are ok - Division 1 women - all - Americans etc.
People play in this event with a very high level of sportsmanship and play their hearts out whether they have a team stacked to and have played in national coed tournaments together or knowing that they don’t have a chance of winning look forward to the challenge and play with everything they have.
This event has a bad rep for being a social event for single people - I have no control over that part of the public relations.
I can mail additional flyers if you won't mind passing them out to
people who play volleyball or ultimate Frisbee.

PS - my passing out flyers at a women's club tournament kind of
backfired - one setter in the finals last year is the setter for the BSU
women's club team - she told her friend - that if you come to play in
this your better to be ready to play - she pointed to a muscular black
man ( Chief from Fort Wayne) and said - I dug him but it felt like both
my arms were going to break.
Like is this going to get more women to play ?

Our college group (Salt and Light Christian Fellowship) of Kossuth
Street Baptist Church holds an annual coed volleyball and ultimate
Frisbee picnic-tournament to support the work of Trinity Mission.
Trinity Mission is supported by over 25 local Churches and assists
homeless people and people with addictions - to alcohol , drugs and
other issues. The choice for some is jail and become hardened with a
less than 10 % chance of real change to Christian counseling and a very
high chance of real change.
The A level includes many of the top regional teams and teams from
Indy , Fort Wayne and Chicago. The intermediate level includes
typically 8 to 10 Church teams both local and from around the state.
People play with excellent sportsmanship - the event has an atmosphere
of a community picnic.
The event has a second reputation as being a social event for athletic
single people. Several couples have met at the event in the past 19
years and gotten married - the last two had twins.
The other reputation is that the upper level is open and more than half
of the women players in the competitive level are current or previous
division 1 college players. We have former men college varsity players
and women who were all - Americans and played on the US National team.
We had 6 ultimate Frisbee teams last year and would like to expand the
ultimate Frisbee as more young people learn how to play. ( Harrison and
Jefferson high school have club teams and several Indy high schools have
club teams). .
