Beach Volleyball in MA - 04-27-2007, 12:22 PM

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows where there is beach volleyball in RI or MA. I don't mean leagues, but where can I go to the beach and find a volleyball net where random pickup games happen on a daily basis with average skilled players?

Jim;

The best place I know for pick up games are just over the board to the north.

Normally every sunday at Long Sands York Beach, ME there are two or three nets going. Usually quads, moderate skill level, very nice people and fun.

Every saturday (and i've been told most sundays) Hampton Beach, NH (after the concert area and before the statue) there are a ton of nets set up. Most people are very friendly and the levels range from friendly/competative (not garbage ball) to very competative. I'd recommend looking for "The Pirate Guy" who has a pirate flag on his net, he's VERY nice and always helps people out.

Those are the two main places that I know of that have pick up ball on the sand consistantly.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the post but those places are just too far from me. I am down in Southern RI but I boarder some MA towns. I am near Horseneck Beach, Newport area.. Those spots you mentioned are over 2 hours away. Know of anything more southern?
