New Mexico Summer Sand Series Tournaments - Part I

That's right, we are looking at a bold summer of volleyball in New Mexico this summer. This installment has to do with events to be held at Charlie's Sandbox in Albuquerque. The venue will have 8 sand courts - 6 outdoor and 2 indoor - all with really, really nice sand and a good setup. We will be able to run multiple divisions simultaneously, which should make for a good scene. There will be cash prizes in the open with merchandise and certificates in other divisions. While format will depend on turnout, we're hoping to run the following:
Men's: Open & A
Women's: Open & A
Juniors: 3's or 4's
Some details need to be worked out on running the events, but the dates are set. Here they are:
March 4th: Women's (indoor sand)
March 18th: Men's (indoor sand)
April 14th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)
May 12th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)
June 9th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)
July 14th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)
August 18th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)
September 15th: Women's; Men's; Juniors (outdoor sand)

Rather than a whole new thread, an update here:
1) Sandia Mountain Classic - Time to register for NM's biggest event!
Time to register! $60/ team by 5/1 before the entry fee rises up to $70, and with limited space, you won't want to miss out. This is going to be one of the best events in the whole region, with teams from around the country competing! In case you haven't heard about it, the tournament is happening May 12th & 13th at Charlie's Sandbox in Albuquerque, run by Sonny Marquez and Plastic Clothing. The event offers three skill levels of competition so every player can participate, with cash and prizes currently listed at $4,000. At the top, the open divisions will feature some of the strongest competition around with pro from around the country competing in both men's and women's divisions. The A and B divisions give players of all skill levels a chance to show their stuff. There will be other events including a players party Saturday night at Sneakerz Sports Bar. If you're thinking of coming in from out of town, the host hotel has a great rate and is just around the corner from the event: Motel 6 for $36/ night. 2) Below is an updated New Mexico Schedule. With lots of great venues and events, this is sure to be an exciting year of outdoor volleyball in the desert southwest. There may be a few more events added, including at Lucky 66 and another monthly women's event.
