Any anyone tell me if it is for NCAA for college teams/players to be play in tournaments or leagues in the off season?

Hi Peeps,
As far as NCAA regulations go I don't think there would be any rules disallowing you to participate in any of the events you mentioned. However, the rules would probably prohibit an athlete from receiving any winnings in the form of money and possibly equipment etc. Check out this site for more information.

Most universities and individual teams do have there own rules about participating in some of these events. When I did track in college it was pretty much a no-no to do any open meets during the off season unless it was ok'ed by the coach first. Hope this helps.

Being a collegiate volleyballer, we can't even participate in a doubles tournament during season, but it's a free-for-all in the off season. Meanaing we can play for money the day after our season ends.
But, mostly the players just relax during the off season or play nat'l team or club ball.

It's also important who you associate with in the off season. Many rules state you can't be coached by your coach off season except one on one. I'd ask the AD at your school or your coach and make sure everything's Kosher.
