Junior Olympic Volleyball tryouts begin this weekend in Greensboro, NC

That's right! It is time for Junior Olympics Volleyball tryouts again.
It seems like yesterday that we were hosting last year's tournaments
but the summer has come and gone and the time has come for the
2005-2006 Junior Olympics tryouts for the new Piedmont Triad Volleyball
Club. Last year's Piedmont Volleyball Club and Triad Volleyball Club
have combined to offer some new opportunities for players in the area
to find the team is right for them. This year, the club will be
offering three levels of teams - National Piedmont teams, Regional PVC
teams in Greensboro, Regional Triad teams in Winston, and developmental
teams in Greensboro.

National teams are designed for the elite player. These teams will
have 2-3 coaches per team and will have longer, more intense practice
sessions. These teams will play regional and national events,
including more travel than the regional or developmental teams.
National Team tryouts are scheduled at the Greensboro Sportsplex
beginning this Sunday, November 6 from 1-5 p.m. There will be a second
tryout on Saturday, November 12 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tournaments will
be played from January through May.

Regional teams are designed for the competitive player who is willing
to practice twice a week, and travel throughout the NC region playing
tournaments on weekends from January through March. These teams will
host their Greensboro tryouts at the Greensboro Sportsplex on the
following schedule:

Tuesday, November 8 from 5:45 - 7:45 p.m. for ages 15 and under
Tuesday, November 8 from 7:45 - 9:45 p.m. for ages 16-18
Thursday, November 10 from 5:45 - 7:45 p.m. for ages 15 and under
Thursday, November 10 from 7:45 - 9:45 p.m. for ages 16-18
Sunday, November 13 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for ages 15 and under
Sunday, November 13 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. for ages 16-18

Developmental teams will be offered in Greensboro at the Greensboro
Sportsplex. These teams are designed for the new Junior Olympics
player who wants a lower commitment level and who wants to work to
improve their game to hopefully play Regionally or Nationally in the
future. These teams will practice once a week and play fewer
tournaments than the Regional or National teams. The tryout schedule
for these teams will follow the same schedule as the Regional Team
tryouts above.

There is a $30 tryout fee which will be applied to your team fees if
you accept the position offered to you following tryouts. For
