Volleyballers, Now that the candy holidays are over and the warm weather seems to be more consistent than normal, it's time to play some volleyball. Coming-up on Sunday Feb. 26th Lincoln Barnett is hosting a co-ed 6 tournament in Yukon at Jackie Cooper Gymnasium. The phone # there is 405-350-8920 or you can reach Lincoln through his website www.hovball.com The following Saturday, March 4th is the first doubles tournament at City Beach for 2006. We will offer men's and women's for adults and for teens. That equates to 2 courts/division if all divisions fill. This tournament will NOT be AVP Next although most if not all future 2s tournaments will likely be AVP Next events. The March 4th event will cost $15/pre-registered player with City Beach Members getting $5 off. Pre-register by talking to Marc on the phone at 670-2020 or sending me an email at marcvball@citybeachokc.com If you wait until Friday March 3rd, you should call before 5pm because emails are not always delivered immediately. This tournament will have prizes for teen divisions and 75% of entry fees in each adult division. We will play short court, let serve, rally score and so-on...MODERN VOLLEYBALL! Game length will be decided per division when we see how many teems each division has. Be prepared for a cool day with thermals or tights under your regular gear...it's better to have to peel, than to not have enough clothing. March 11th will be our 1st Draw 3s. It would be nice to get large #s at those events. All levels and ages are stongly encouraged to come out for draw 3s. If you think your are really good, then you should come to draw 3s and help others get better. If you think you're good, then come in hopes of having someone who can help you and someone you can help on your team. If you think you're not that good but want to play and/or get better then come and take advantage of having players on your team who can help you learn. No matter what you think of your game, come to draw triples to have fun and help GROW THE game of beach volleyball. March 18th will be adult and teen co-ed 2s. That same day will see City Beach hosting a huge Bike Show and Randall Hall formerly of Lynnard Skynnard on stage that night. This Bike event will be the Kick-off event for a weekly Friday Night Ultimate Bike Night hosted by City Beach and Produced by Cave Man Choppers. Get out and play some ball soon wherever you can. Thanks to the many players, organizers, directors, churches, community centers and othe venues who and which make volleyball go in Oklahoma.
