Free no-obligation coaching clinic for those that might be interested in Coaching Positions with Cascade Volleyball Club of Seattle: If you ever thought about coaching junior volleyball, consider joining the staff of one of the best junior volleyball programs in the region. If you think you might be interested, please email us at cascadevball@comcast.net and attend a no-cost no-obligation coaching clinic this Sunday from Noon to 5 PM at Ballard HS. The clinic taught by Carolyn Farny (UW Volleyball ’03 – ’06) and Dave Roast (20 years experience teaching Volleyball) will cover all the basics of the teaching method we use at Cascade Volleyball to train winning teams. We use the Gold Medal Squared System – the same system used at highly successful college programs such at UW and Pepperdine. This clinic and the other training we provide, is part a comprehensive coach development and mentoring program we have at Cascade Volleyball. Last year, we sent 10 coaches to the Gold Medal Squared Clinic at our cost ($300 a person) to learn directly from three NCAA Championship Head coaches – McLaughlin from UW, Dunphy from Pepperdine and McGown formerly from Utah. Benefits of coaching for Cascade Volleyball Club include free attendance to clinics like this and a private clinic taught by UW Head Coach Jim McLaughlin and NCAA Coach of the Year. We also supply equipment, uniforms and a stipend to cover all expenses - but most importantly – we provide the opportunity to pass on your love of the game to a new generation The club season is about to begin. Each year we have experienced explosive growth in the number of junior girls that want to play club volleyball. Last year nearly 300 tried out for the 10 teams we fielded (spots for 120 players). Because of the success and the reasonable cost of our program, we expect even more girls this year and we hope to offer a boys team for the first time. The problem is we do not currently have enough coaches to field 10 teams. The club season runs from December to May with try-outs in November. Each of our teams has two practices per week that are about 2 hours long and each of our teams goes to 8 tournaments between January and May. Because of our central location with in the Puget Sound Region and because we do not travel to tournaments outside our region, the time commitment to coach at Cascade VBC is significantly less than some other clubs in our region. This year the coach stipends for head coaches will range from $2000 to $2700 and for assistant coaches from $1200 to $1800. So if you want to take your game to a new level, become a junior volleyball coach. Come this Sunday afternoon, dressed to play some volleyball and ready to learn. Contact us if you have any other questions.
