Ahad here--Had a quick question aswell - 05-02-2007, 02:07 PM

Hey...

My name is ahad. I am in college and play volleyball a few times a week. I think im not that bad considering the fact that I am only 5 8. I do have a question though. What is the international rule on the usage of a foot/leg during a game? And if a person spikes the ball and rather then picking the ball up with your hands/arms...it hits the persons head/body?
I hope this forum can educate me more about volley ball

In nearly all levels of play, any part of the body is playable so long as it is deemed a legal hit. (i.e. no double contact or lift of the ball)

Welcome to the forum!

Interestingly enough two people can contact the ball at the same time with it being considered a legal hit... Figure that one out lol

But now is that considered as one contact or two?

Doesn't that count as one hit and either person can then make the next hit?

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Internationally you've used up two of the team's contacts (exception of block) and either one may make the next contact for the third team contact. In USAV you're graced with only one of the team's contact, so a set and spike can still be executed.

Well dEx if you and bhitterdpasser hit it, then I definately wouldn't hit it. Even if I ordinarily would have hit it. Now if strazz hit it, I'd consider hitting it, especially if I'd hit it otherwise. Sadly though.... regardless of how much I'd like to hit it or who's hit it already and why.... I wouldn't, I just can't!

Three players can block the ball at the same time
Three players can dig the ball at the same time
Three players can set the ball at the same time
Three players can hit the ball at the same time
Three ball contacts per team rally
If this happens, when this happens, the results are the same
Three players are out of position doing things the same
Three players are ball hogs thinking the same
Three players with mad skills all the same
But NERT wouldn't, just can't
I'll also be watching wondering why?
Three players are colliding and fumbling
Three players are yelling and tumbling
Three players are on the ground and rumbling
This is like classic vball bumbling
