Hey guys,
Name's Lucas and me and my team were at the March "Volleyball In the Gym" event. It was a helluva lotta fun, and we look forward to doing these every month.
We do Urban also, but monthly tournaments give us a lot more practice time, and instant-gratification if we win
So yea, just saying hi!
-Lucas

Nope, dont know who Kev/Jess are!
But yea, the tournaments rock. My team was in the 2nd AA/B division thingie, in the Aux gym. Next tournament we will be cool like everyone and play in the nice big one WOOT.
Upper division is hot stuff. How'd you do last tournament? Good luck to you on April 12th! | | | | | | | | Moderator

i do co-ed for urban. i did men's ~3 years ago, and i definitely like co-ed better - there's a lot less ego-driven drama. though maybe i'm just playing with cooler people this time
and yea i play at central park all the time in the summer. by the courts at 86th st. what about you? | | | | | | | | Moderator

of course we had fun... vbli tournaments are always a sure good time - especially with a beer afterwards (or during, for some).
i used to play co-ed urban, but i'm switching over to women's next season. i'm always looking to play though, so if you ever need a sub - i'm available.
i used to go down to those 86th courts all the time, but if you want some good weekend tournament play during the summer you should do volleyball in the park. it's 6's, 4's, 2's men's, women's and reverse co-ed. so fun. | | | | | | | | Moderator

Looks like life will be as full of vball for me now as it was back in high school, hah!
Yea Glenn told us how some people go for drinks between games during tournies, and it doesn't really work out for em...
I will definitely hit you up on that offer if we ever need a sub.
Also - what are reverse co-eds......??
You must be just as bored at work/school as me, eh? | | | | | | | | Moderator

reverse is co-ed but guys can only hit behind the 10-foot line. it's probably my favorite format of volleyball... because it's all about perfect passing and the ladies getting to swing away :-)
in case anyone else is reading this, they can check out the website at VOLLEYBALL IN THE PARK
dates for the summer aren't up yet, but they will be soon.
and yes, i'm off today and so bored i'm actually watching jersey girl with ben affleck. pathetic... | | | | | | | | Moderator

A bunch of us are actually going to central park tomorrow around 2pm-ish if you or anyone wants to come by. Not sure what it'll be like out, but it'll be our first time there this season/year. Weather looks like it'll be ok so far! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
