Introduce Myself - 10-01-2008, 09:22 AM

Hi just came across this site on google. Looked interesting. Had a question: How important is playing high school volleyball? My daughter wants to play in college. She plays for a club team and travels. She has received some recruiting letters from lower DI teams and some DII; however at high school the coach sits her out. According to stats she has sat out more than any other player (20 games vs 39) . Is it worth all the time to a team she doesnt' play or would her time be better spent in a gym with a personal trainer to get stronger for club/college? Thanks

Well, I have 2 questions for you. Are the recruiting letters specific to your daughter or is it a general letter that the school sends out to thousands of girls in her situation?

Send me some video and we can try and figure out her situation.

Two letters have been address to her directly. At this time I am working with club coaches to get skills video. Our high school team doesn't play high level so I haven't been recording (also our hs coach doesn't like parents to record during a game nor take still pictures!?!?!?) She has went to 2 DI camps and won coaches award and received most improved on her club team last year from coaches.

Your HS coach makes no sense to me. Usually, coaches like to watch a full match instead of skills videos. It's pretty easy to make a skills video on hitting, passing, etc. But, we like to see reaction, ability to read, ability to play and then some...

Where are you from?
