I have recently graduated college and am moving to Long Island from Boston. I played ALOT of volleyball up there and am looking to continue the trend. I play outdoors and indoors, I was about a B level players for indoor yankee volleyball and outdoors, I played at the Open level for most outdoor tournaments. I am looking for outdoor partners since the summer is starting so shoot me an email or message and i will get back to you.

Hey, welcome aboard. Did you just post a good bye on the bavp? If so I think I was the one who replied to you directing you to volleyballinthepark and eventually here. There aren't too many Open level players on here yet, but maybe once I get home to CT I could play one with you.

Welcome, I think I saw your post on BAVP this morning, and meant to send an email sooner. If not my mistake, either way here ya go:

There is plenty of VB here, both in LI and NYC. It’s not as centralized or organized as Yankee. However, the sport has a massive showing here for an one hour drive in all directions.

East End Volleyball, it’s a great beach org that provides leagues and beach tourneys. Their upper division is packed with fantastic players and in addition to being extremely well organized it’s run by a pretty great guy. EEVB also runs several events in indoors in the tri-state area. – East End Volleyball

LIVA – There are many players at rec or lower division levels all looking for that corporate social midweek 4’s and 6’s. Their upper divisions are not as strong as EEVB but they are sufficient to get ones feet wet LIVA runs only 4’s and 6’s beach no doubles or indoor events that I know of. - Long Island Volleyball Association

VITP – Yeah, we VBLI aka me runs this series, we’re strictly grass tourneys. Although VITG launched this year it has run seven winter / spring indoor events. However, we still maintain grass as our primary focus. The competition is solid all around as well as the largest/only grass orgs in the in area -- VBLI PRESENTS - THE 2007 SUMMER SERIES

SportimeTFM – OK so being this is the only indoor league of it size and is where a majority of the L.I.'s OPEN / AA players play. I would suggest you contact Joe Siegel he will be able to place you on a team. SportimeSM... Fitness for Real Life.

NYC Urban League – I don’t know more then I’m told and would just suggest you check it out for yourself. - Indoor Leagues - Welcome to NYUPAL Volleyball

NYC Big City Volleyball - I don’t know more then I’m told and would just suggest you check it out for yourself. – Indoor Leagues - Welcome to the Big City Volleyball League!

GEVA an USAVB region - Garden Empire Volleyball Association - Just like Yankee but the tourneys are all all inner city and the play is sorted like Yankee. Garden Empire Volleyball Association

There are other smaller cliquish gyms, pickup and other stuff but none as big as the ones above.

If you’re a B rated Yankee player your rating here would be AA/OPEN here.

These are all great starting points so if you have any specific questions please ask me privately.

Welcome Again.....

-Glenn

Do you think you're the only one who trolls BAVP and points people to vbli?

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
