Hey all,

I recently joined this forum, mainly because I thought I needed to in order to order that Cobra net system at a discount. However, browsing the site today I realized I stumbled on a pretty good forum. I play volleyball recreationally and I am alright in competitiveness. I have no idea what the A, B, C Open stuff means, but I like to play doubles or triples beach volleyball as well as team indoor volleyball. I recently had the opportunity to take a class with the UConn Women's volleyball coach so I learned some good fundamentals. I'd love to find some more people to play with in the CT area. Anyway, just posting here for an introduction. Talk to you all eventually!

Welcome Kuba!

So you took a class with Jung? He's a great guy - really nice and pretty damn hillarious.

Plenty of people are from CT and LI around here so I'm sure they'll respond shortly with a list of places to go and play them

If you like to play 2's there is a guy named Dex on here who is always frantic about finding a partner.

Be ready to answer his burning question "How tall are you" though.

What part of CT? There's a strong contingent of VBLI'ers down in the New Haven area. Many of us play in various open gyms in the area and we also have a team playing at the CT Volleyball center in Woodbridge.

Gearing up for outdoor play; there are many sand courts that we frequent through out the summer.

I live in the Vernon/Manchester area. That is until I move to Fort Lauderdale in July (can you say beach vball all year long?) I have a good serve, im a solid passer and setter, but unfortunately I am 5'10". I spike, just not crazy super spike.

Hmmmm How is being 5'10" unfortunate in the volleyball world? LOL. Us southern CT people don't discriminate over the height of the people we play with. Manchester/ Vernon is about 50 minutes away from most of us though. Sheesh, couldn't you live closer?
